The Mark (Left Behind #8)
by Tim LaHaye, Jerry B. Jenkins
Description:
The exciting eighth book in the Left Behind series has sold over 2.5 million copies in hardcover and is now available in trade paperback. With over 40 million products sold, the Left Behind series is an international phenomenon.
My Review:
This one is exactly what it sounds like, all about how the mark of the beast comes about. I thought it plausible in the scope of the story, especially blending in chip technology. It was interesting that none of the people that already bore the mark of Christ were in the least tempted, even when faced with the enforcers (guillotines).
The deadline for complying ramps up the tension as well, as the various members of the Tribulation Force scramble to do as much as they can, save as many as they can, from behind enemy lines. David Hassid was again my favorite in this. Still, some of the missions seem a little botched to me.
One thing I did enjoy was the ramping up of Carpathia's sinister nature and the abandonment of giving any pretense of choice for the masses. It was creepy to the max.
Overall, I liked the story. If you enjoyed the previous installments, you'll likely dig this one.
I borrowed this from a friend.
